College Royal- An Enjoyable day with Science

Each year the doors are thrown open at the University of Guelph to the public along with an invitation to experience science first hand. It is a special experience that every year attracts thousands. To find out more about the event, visit the College Royal website.

Aligning Needs with Wants : Learning to Love What You Have

Gentlemen,
The more we search into the history of freemasonry, the more we realize our antient brethren were the genuine, progressive risk takers. They handed us guidelines to avoid serious problems that plagued their generations- especially the caution to stay away from discussions of politics and religion. For those of you who have been witness to The Reading of the Antient Charges: North Star.
They gave us order by attempting to bring coherence to the ritual. At the time, they knew full well, they were burying information but could not destroy the antient ideas. They knew, if any mason was curious, he would search until he discovered for himself, what Dr. James Anderson and Dr. John Theophilus Desagaulier left on the cutting room floor. Of course we discovered it!
My ancestors, the Scots were too damned head strong to accept a lead from England. Thank G-d for the Celts. The Irish had their own notions of freemasonry. Those antient ideas are their for you and me to discover AND compare to the work we are doing today.
Make no mistake, the order is a living organism. The ideas are greater than any one man, any Grand Master, and order or view. They are the gifts that our antient brethren passed to us in the Antient Charges.
This site reflects my sense that there is a passion within freemasonry, that only a hardy few experience. That is the danger of freemasonry. It is something we can believe. It reveals truth.
I hope you find my blog a route to your own learning. Challenge ideas, but do it as a thoughtful gentleman who understands his ultimate goal is to be a slave to the people around him. That is when we have achieved the highest rung.
Revisit this site only if you see the strength in thinking as one mind. When a lodge achieves that, the results are very powerful. But take heed! It takes hard work and trust. But if you are a traveller, join me and through this enter this corner of freemasonry. We can search together for that next level of understanding. There is so much to learn in an endless search for enlightenment, can any one person understand it all?
If you believe an oath should be kept, if you believe it is work to keep quiet, to be silent, to keep a secret, if you believe trivializing our obligations is hollowing out the heart of our Order, then we are more alike than different.
